Dr. Wells is an Associate Professor in the Department of Child & Youth Care and holds the Canada Research Chair for the Public Understanding of Sexual and Gender Minority Youth. Dr. Wells also serves as the Director of the MacEwan Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity.

Preserving Edmonton’s 2SLGBTQ+ History
This student project will work with team members to support the organization and digitization of important 2SLGBTQ+ community records and archival documents as part of the Edmonton Queer History Project. This may include work locating records in the City of Edmonton Archives, Province of Alberta Archives, and other sources.

Researching and Celebrating Edmonton’s Queer History
This student project will support research into Edmonton’s queer history by working with archival documents, community newsletters, and personal collections to help document and share Edmonton’s rich and diverse 2SLGBTQ+ histories on social media through the creation of interactive social media posts, Tik Tok videos, and other creative materials.

Level UP - Allyship Training Development
To research and support the development of Allyship training with the Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity, which includes a review of academic literature, best practices and programs at post-secondary institutions from across North America. This project will support the identification of key themes and learning outcomes required in building an online allyship training program, which can be delivered at MacEwan University.

Level UP - Allyship Research
To work with the Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity to conduct a literature review on allyship and the importance to the safety and inclusion of 2SLGBTQ+ community members.
