Details

Develop an evaluation plan for youth programs that will work for currently active programs and for planned/future programs.

Deliverables
  • Review existing programs & current questionnaires.
  • Benchmark measurements for programs that involve dogs.
  • Identify options for measurements (categories & specific questions).
  • Identify additional stakeholders to use in measurement (parents/guardians, Rescues/Shelters)
  • Work with us to select the set of measurements from the options.
  • Create a questionnaire for use pre- and post-programs to evaluate improvement that will be reused for successive programs to measure long-term effectiveness and success, short and focused on key measures for the youth.
  • Create a tabulation tool (database?) to use over time to track program performance & results.
  • Structure data collection to be suitable for both long-term org. performance and potential collaboration with academics and other groups (researchers, animal assisted Intervention) the benefits of programs for youth and for animals. Data entry should be easy to do so make sure it happens in a timely manner with limited staff.
  • Recommendations on collaborators.
Mentorship

We are available to meet via web meeting regularly, day times and some evenings. Weekends are possible though not preferred.

Tricia is available on an on-call basis if needed.

We will work collaboratively with the students and help them with questions or information as much as possible,

We use Microsoft Teams for our meetings. We have met using other platforms, so will consider it if needed, though prefer using Teams because it integrates with the Team we will set up for the project and is secure. We will add all students as members to our Microsoft Team, which allows messaging, file saving, and other collaboration.

We can provide access to a group email account for the team, if helpful.

We have access to an instructional designer for a meeting or two to help the students understand and identify measurements if desired.

Paws 4 Kids 4 Paws is a community-based youth development, educational, charitable organization. Our goal is to empower youth to create a healthier, more successful future through an understanding of domestic animals. P4K4P believes that all children are change agents. They deserve opportunities to lead innovative solutions that positively impact their lives and the lives of shelter animals.
Our Mission: provide animal-assisted experiences for youth to develop their strengths by helping rescue animals become more adoptable.
In addition, P4K4P supplies an avenue to learn skills, design projects, share ideas, meet mentors, and gain support. Through face-to-face events/learning, and digital/social platforms, P4K4P advances its mission and purpose. The programs provide unique learning experiences that inspire and motivate learners who are at risk for academic/social failure by developing strengths, talents and interests beyond traditional academics.
