Details

CanAge has been awarded grant funding from ISED (Innovation, Science and Economic Development) to develop key training resources for financial institutions to better understand how to support older adult clients. Key topics include recognizing the signs of clients who are victims of frauds and scams and working with older adult populations who may be experiencing cognitive decline, dementia, etc.

In 2021, the Canadian Bankers Association launched a voluntary code of conduct called Voluntary Commitments and Codes of Conduct Code of Conduct for the Delivery of Banking Services to Seniors, or more commonly known as, the Seniors Banking Code. SEE: https://cba.ca/Assets/CBA/Documents/Files/Article%20Category/PDF/vol-seniors-en.pdf

The training has been developed for front line employees at banks, credit unions, investment firms and all types of financial institutions. We are looking to now monetize and market this program as the capacity-building component of our grant.

Deliverables

Enlisting the assistance of your course participants, we would be interested in the development of the following aspects:

  • refinement of key marketing messages that would resonate strongly with the various clients in the FI (Financial Institutions) sector
  • a 5-year budget and revenue strategy for the program to include options for program fees, sponsorships, and partnerships
  • a go-to-market strategy with a B2B plan for business development activities
  • other aspects that the students identify might be of benefit to the growth and sustainability of the program
Mentorship

We are only too happy to provide:

  • A briefing document along with a facilitated overview of the important themes and needs for the project
  • Any key messages, target audiences and available creative assets to help them understand the brand
  • A single point of contact (POC) assigned to your course and students, with a team of experts available for questions
  • Access to Slack, Google Workspace, and some other project management tools. We welcome the students so they can feel as though they are part of the team, or at arm's length - whatever is best.
  • *For those running courses outside of Canada*, we'll provide guidance and direction for the students to better understand the Canadian business (and geographical) landscape, along with openly available sources of data that could be useful in making their assessments.
  • Recognition of the school's involvement and the students' work in a media release (if permitted) and attribution of the students' contributions via LinkedIn or references as required.
