Details

The Kamloops Film Society aims to strengthen its community presence and broaden its audience base. The project involves creating a comprehensive lead database that identifies local businesses, organizations, and community leaders who could serve as potential sponsors, partners, or collaborators.

This database will be instrumental in fostering strategic relationships that can support the Society's growth and sustainability. Additionally, the project seeks to expand the Society’s demographic reach by engaging underrepresented groups, including younger audiences and diverse cultural communities.

By targeting these new audience segments, the Society hopes to enhance its cultural impact and ensure a more inclusive representation within its programs. The project will provide learners with the opportunity to apply their research and data management skills, as well as their understanding of community engagement strategies.

Deliverables

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

1. Lead Generation & Research

  • Identify Potential Leads: Conduct research to identify local businesses, non-profits, educational institutions, cultural organizations, and other relevant groups in the Kamloops area that may be interested in sponsoring, partnering, or collaborating with the Film Society.
  • Gather Full Contact Details: Collect complete contact information (name, title, phone number, email, address, and social media profiles) for each lead to create a valuable database. Specific contacts (e.g., Communications Manager, or Owner are preferred over general info@ emails or web contact forms).
  • Target Specific Demographics: Focus on expanding the Film Society’s reach to new and diverse audiences, such as younger demographics, local businesses, and community organizations focused on arts and culture.

2. Database Creation & Organization

  • Build and Manage Database: Create a comprehensive, user-friendly database (using Google Sheets or Excel) to store all contact details, categorize leads (e.g., sponsor, partner, community group).
  • Database Categorization: Organize leads by priority and relevance to specific Film Society needs (e.g., sponsorship opportunities, community events, collaborative programming).

Outcomes & Deliverables:

  1. Comprehensive Lead Database: A well-organized and detailed database containing at least 100 local leads with full contact details. The database should categorize leads by type (e.g., potential sponsor, community partner, collaborator) and include any relevant notes on the potential for partnership or sponsorship.
  2. Increased Demographic Reach: An actionable strategy for targeting and engaging new demographic groups in the Kamloops area, based on insights from the database. This could include recommendations for future outreach to specific types of organizations or community sectors that align with the Film Society’s mission.
