disease modeling data analysisThe goal of this project is to develop advanced disease modelling capacity in a livestock traceability system, that will allow for rapid disease response. The outcome is functionality that will allow authorities to track at-risk animals, premises and conveyance vehicles by accessing traceability datasets and applying data analytics based on disease parameters. The use case for this project will be Foot and Mouth Disease.
Students will need to familiarize themselves with the traceability technology in use and work with industry and veterinary authorities to understand the outputs needed. They will then need apply their understanding of advanced data analytics to design a process by which authorities identify infected animal/premises/fomite and the system reports all at-risk animals, equipment and premises.
Our organization will provide a dedicated contact person who can meet regularly with students and respond quickly to questions from the team. We will provide contact with our IT team who can ensure access to our information management systems and to federal veterinary authorities capable of identifying datasets required in a disease response.
